Privates, Duets, Class…….oh my!

So many things to choose from! There are pros and cons to all of these. Let’s start with a popular choice of class…

Class Pros: the studio energy is high and a great motivator for an awesome general workout. Working out with others is fun! This a budget friendly way to get your Pilates in!

Class Cons: It is a general workout meant for all body types and abilities. So very little modifications are done. Specific work for your individual goals is not necessarily addressed.

Private Pros: It's all about achieving YOUR goals! Sessions are tailored to your goals based on what happened in the previous sessions and where and what you want to be doing in your movement. We will use all equipment at some time and the variety in the sessions is high. I will be working to ensure the most effective results in the shortest amount of time. If you have a specific circumstance happening in your body or a tight daily schedule, this is the best place to address it.

Private Cons: Some folks don’t like the 1:1 ratio. Privates are more of an investment.

Duets Pros: Working out with a partner is fun! A wonderful time to spend with friend, sister, spouse, or with your kiddo. Both sets of goals are addressed and worked toward. Lots of variety can be found in the sessions. Great 2:1 ratio, and lots of personal attention. The investment is somewhere in the middle of a class and private.

Duets Cons: Both sets of goals are addressed - so it may take a little longer than a private to get to the ultimate goal. Scheduling is dependent on both people being available. And you should like your duet partner. ;)

PS - There is no general secret to what is best. It is really up to you and your goals and how quickly you want to get there. If timeline doesn't necessarily matter Class is a great option. If you have a specific timeline, training goal, individual health concern Privates are recommended.
