What does FRCms Mean?

FRCms, is a certification for Functional Range Conditioning(FRC) Mobility Specialist(ms).

FRC is a systematic training concept based upon scientific methodologies and clinical studies. Based upon the wide ranging knowledge and studies that have advanced our scientific understanding of the human body and its capacity to change, strengthen, and do amazing things. With this wide breadth and wealth of scientific clinical studies we have at our disposal now, we know so much more about the human body than just the bones, muscles, ligaments, and tendons we see in an anatomy book.

FRC is a system to maintain and improve:

  • Functional joint mobility - ability to achieve end range of motion actively

  • Acticular joint resiliance - increasing tissue load bearing capacity to ensure injury prevention

  • Articular joint health and longevity

Hence, when doing FRC training, you are looking at the fundamentals of movement at the joint specifically. To create pain free larger movements. So, we work at your hip for strength and power and then we can ensure you have strength and power in walking, in jogging, in running, and in sprinting. If you so desire.

Seeing this list of priorities of FRC, one can see how it easily fits between rehab and physical training. So that anyone can be in that grey area of..let’s say….rehab your shoulder, but you continue with actively training for your marathon.

It is in no wonder why FRC is taking the professional and collegiate sports by storm. Top tier competitive athletes want/need to keep at the top of their sport. Walking that grey line of something that may need to rehab but isn’t going to necessarily side-line the athlete for the duration.

Well, that’s great for “athletes” but what about for me , I’m not a competitive athlete? I just want to be able to do a squat and not have my hips hurt. FRC is applicable to EVERYONE. It revolves around joint health and ensuring those joints are ready to do whatever it is you want to do. Whether that is the Fort Worth Marathon, being able to check the pool chemicals with ease, or hiking through the Rockies this summer.
